Presented by John Harris, CPUSA-Boston
Since the presidential election the question of fascism and how to fight it has come to the fore. Steve Bannon, an open white supremacist, has been selected as chief strategist and senior counselor to the incoming Trump administration. We are faced with a campaign of racist and xenophobic rhetoric coming from the centers of power in Washington. More than rhetoric, they mean what they say. Meanwhile, the corporate media seeks to pretty up this political trend by describing it as the "Alt-right". History has seen movements like this and there is much to learn from these experiences. Fascism has historical roots and has been successfully fought against in the past. Join us for a discussion of the current crisis we face and how we can organize and mobilize to defend our interests as working people and youth.
